Best power bank for Steam Deck (2026): 45W USB-C PD and airline limits

Short answer. Buy the Baseus EnerFill FC41 ($79.99; buy: https://dealectric.com/go/baseus-enerfill-fc41-25000mah-145w, code FC41 saves $33, pre-applied by the link): $46.99 after the code for a 25,000 mAh (91 Wh) USB-C PD power bank that charges a Steam Deck at its full 45 W while you play, under the 100 Wh airline limit, with two built-in USB-C cables (one 140 W); Anker's 24,000–25,000 mAh laptop banks are $104.99–$109.99. How long it lasts: about 77 Wh reaches the Deck, roughly 1.5 full charges of a Steam Deck OLED (50 Wh) or 1.9 of an LCD model (40 Wh), or 3–5 more hours of play.

The same money otherwise buys INIU's 20,000 mAh 65 W Cougar ($46.99 at INIU): lighter (324 g vs about 517 g) but a fifth less capacity and no built-in cable. A 20–30 W bank only slows the battery drain while you play a demanding game.

How many Steam Deck charges a power bank gives

A power bank's mAh is rated at its cells' 3.7 V, so 25,000 mAh is 91 Wh; after conversion losses about 85% reaches the Deck. The Steam Deck OLED has a 50 Wh battery and the LCD model 40 Wh (Valve), and the Deck draws about 15–25 W in demanding games. A 20,000 mAh (73–74 Wh) bank gives about 1.2 OLED charges, a 25,000 mAh (91 Wh) bank about 1.5.

What 45W USB-C PD means for a Steam Deck

Valve rates both Steam Decks at 45 W USB-C PD. A 45 W-or-higher bank charges it while you play; a 20–30 W bank charges it when idle or asleep but only slows the drain in heavy games. More than 45 W doesn't charge the Deck faster, but a 100–140 W output also charges a laptop.

ROG Ally, Legion Go and Switch 2

For these 65 W handhelds, use a bank with 65 W or more on one port to charge them while you play.

Airline limits

Power banks up to 100 Wh (about 27,000 mAh) go in carry-on without approval; 101–160 Wh needs the airline's approval; never in checked bags. Since 27 March 2026, ICAO rules for international flights allow two power banks per passenger and ban recharging them in flight; many airlines also ban using them on board.
