Best portable power station for a travel trailer (2026): 30 amp, 50 amp and AC

Short answer. Buy the BLUETTI AC200L ($899; buy: https://dealectric.com/go/bluetti-ac200l, code AFF5OFF saves $44.95, pre-applied by the link): $854.05 after the code for a 2,048 Wh LiFePO4 portable power station with a 30-amp RV (TT-30) outlet, so the travel trailer's 30-amp cord plugs straight in; the other 2kWh stations cost $879 (EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max, no RV outlet) and $999.99 (Anker SOLIX C2000X Gen 2). The air conditioner: a 13,500 BTU rooftop AC runs at 1,400–1,900 W and needs a soft starter to start on a 2,400 W inverter; then 2 kWh runs it about an hour.

50-amp trailer: a 50-to-30 adapter gives one 120 V leg, and these stations deliver at most 2,400–3,600 W through it, not 50 A; only a 240 V station such as Anker's SOLIX F3800 ($2,404.10 at Home Depot) has a 50-amp (14-50R) outlet. For more AC time on a TT-30, BLUETTI's Elite 300 has 3,014 Wh ($1,199).

30 amp vs 50 amp travel trailers

A 30-amp trailer has one 120 V leg (3,600 W at the pedestal); a 50-amp trailer has two (12,000 W). A portable power station's TT-30 outlet is limited by its inverter, 2,400 W on the AC200L, Elite 300 and C2000 Gen 2 (Anker rates its TT-30 at 20 A), 3,600 W on EcoFlow's DELTA 3 Ultra. On a 50-to-30 adapter a 50-amp trailer gets that same single leg, shared by its whole panel.

Running the RV air conditioner

A 13,500–15,000 BTU rooftop AC draws 12–16 A running (about 1,400–1,900 W) and 25–50 A for a moment at start (Micro-Air), more than a 2,400 W inverter's limit; a soft starter cuts the starting current by 65–75% (Micro-Air's claim), which is what lets these stations start it. Hours ≈ battery Wh × 0.85 ÷ the AC's watts: about 1 hour from 2 kWh, 1.5 hours from 3 kWh. Overnight AC takes a generator or shore power.

What 2 kWh runs in a travel trailer

A 12 V compressor fridge, lights, the water pump, phones and a TV use about 1–1.5 kWh a day, so a 2 kWh station covers one to two days without sun, and a microwave or coffee maker runs on the 2,400 W inverter. Switch the trailer's converter off once its house battery is full, or the converter keeps charging that battery from the station.
