For a power outage, size a solar generator by what must keep running and for how long. A refrigerator uses about 1–1.5 kWh a day, and a portable power station delivers roughly 85% of its rated capacity as AC power, so a 2 kWh station keeps a fridge going about a day and a half and a 3–4 kWh station two to three days. Solar charging is what carries you past that: 400 W of panel puts back roughly 1.2–1.5 kWh on a sunny day. For 240 V loads such as a well pump, or to feed your home's circuits, you need a station with a 120/240 V L14-30 output and a transfer switch; a TT-30 outlet gives 120 V only.

Short answer. Best value for a day or two without power: the BLUETTI Elite 300, 3,014 Wh LiFePO4 with a 10 ms switchover and a TT-30 outlet, at BLUETTI's automatic sale price ($1,099; buy: https://dealectric.com/go/bluetti-elite-300); it does not take extra batteries. Most capacity and inverter per dollar: the ALLPOWERS R4000, 3,456 Wh and 3,600 W with 2,000 W of solar input over three ports ($1,499; buy: https://dealectric.com/go/allpowers-r4000-3456wh, code EXTRA12 saves $179.88); it weighs 45 kg and has no add-on battery in the US. To grow into whole-home backup with a transfer switch and 240 V: EcoFlow's DELTA Pro 3 ($2,799; 4,096 Wh, about 12 kWh with two Extra Batteries, Smart Home Panel 2) or Anker's SOLIX F3800 Plus ($2,599.99; 3,840 Wh, up to six BP3800 batteries, 10-circuit transfer switch kit). About 2 kWh for under $900: the BLUETTI Elite 200 V2, 6,000 cycles and a ≤15 ms switchover ($899; buy: https://dealectric.com/go/bluetti-elite-200-v2, code AFF5OFF saves $44.95), or Anker's C2000 Gen 2 ($899.99), which takes one BP2000 battery to reach 4,096 Wh. Short outages on a budget, panel in the box: the ALLPOWERS P1800 + SP037 400 W kit ($731; buy: https://dealectric.com/go/allpowers-p1800-sp037-solar-kit, code ALLPOWERS26 saves $73.10) or the BLUETTI AC180 + 200 W kit ($769; buy: https://dealectric.com/go/bluetti-ac180-200w-solar-kit, code AFF5OFF saves $38.45).

Rows marked with a code and buy link are products Dealectric lists: the price was verified on the brand's own US store on 2026-10-27 and the code is tested daily in that brand's cart; the date shown is its last pass (last check 2026-10-31). The other rows (Anker SOLIX, EcoFlow, Jackery) are included so the comparison is complete; their figures and prices were read from the makers' own US pages on 2026-10-30 and are not re-checked daily. The buy links are affiliate links: they open the brand's official US store at no cost to the shopper, and the commission pays for the testing; see the disclosure.

*Days of fridge backup: a refrigerator at 1.2 kWh a day, 85% of the rated capacity usable as AC power, no solar. The label on your fridge or a plug-in meter gives your real figure; a chest freezer often uses less, an old fridge more.
