Starlink Mini USB-C power requirements (2026): 100W PD, watts, and running it all day

Short answer. Starlink Mini needs a 100W USB-C PD source at 20 V / 5 A (100 W is the minimum; a 65 W source won't run it) and draws 20–40 W of power on average, 15 W idle (Starlink), so running it all day takes a power station, not a power bank: buy the ALLPOWERS P1800 ($439; buy: https://dealectric.com/go/allpowers-p1800-1024wh, code ALLPOWERS26 saves $43.90), $395.10 after the code for 1,024 Wh with a 140 W USB-C port, about 22–43 hours of Starlink Mini; Anker's SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 and BLUETTI's Elite 100 V2 (both 1,024 Wh) are $499–$499.99. A 99 Wh power bank with a 100 W USB-C port runs it about 2–4 hours.

For a workday (8–10 h), about 300 Wh is enough: EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus (286 Wh, $299) or BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 (288 Wh, $275.50 after the code). Starlink's USB-C cable is a separate 5 m accessory that plugs into a USB-C port, so a bank's built-in cables won't do; keep other devices off a bank that reboots the Mini when the load changes.

Starlink Mini power consumption in watts

Starlink: the Mini consumes 20 to 40 W on average and 15 W idle (its spec sheet says 25–40 W average); it peaks higher while melting snow or reconnecting. Hours ≈ battery Wh × 0.85 ÷ watts: a 288 Wh station at 30 W runs about 8 hours, a 1,024 Wh station about 29.

Why a 65W power bank won't run a Starlink Mini

Starlink's USB power article: use a 100 W, 20 V at 5 A USB Power Delivery source; 100 W is the minimum, and a 65 W source or anything from 66 to 99 W won't run the Mini. The Mini doesn't draw 100 W, but the source must offer the 20 V / 5 A profile. Starlink's 5 m USB-C cable replaces the 15 m power cable and needs that 100 W source.
